There isn’t much that will get me on a plane the very same day that one goes missing. Yet on December 28, that is what I found myself doing. One very stiff gin & tonic later I was on my way to Bangkok.
What was the reason for this impromptu flight? A freediver from Austria had come to visit me and due to snow delays, missed his connection and got stuck in Bangkok. As it was the busiest time of the year, he was stuck there for at least 3 days. So rather than leave him stranded I jumped on the next plane and flew up.
After rescuing him from airport hell we spent 3 days wandering Bangkok, buying him clothes (as his luggage was MIA) and me doing my usual trick of eating everything I couldn’t get in Phuket.

The first flights out of Bangkok were New Years Eve, so after yet another flight delay we made it back to Phuket in time for sunset on the beach and New Years drinks.

(Fitting in!)

(I think he managed to enjoy himself 🙂 )
After the flight dramas and excitement of new year, the rest of the week together was mainly spent in the ocean. We dived, swam, ate and explored.
(The only diving photo I managed to get!)
(See! I can cook!)

The perfect start to 2015 🙂
